Sawsan Morrar is the school accountability reporter at The Sacramento Bee, covering K-12 education and colleges. She is multimedia journalist and earned her MA at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She is a graduate of UC Davis, where she received a BA in International Relations and minors in Communication and Middle East South Asia Studies.
Sawsan freelanced for various publications including The Washington Post and Vice. She was an associate producer at Capital Public Radio, Sacramento’s NPR affiliate news station. She reports on a wide range of issues including education, environmental stories, police shootings, and legislative hearings at the state capitol. Sawsan is a White House Correspondents’ Association Scholar, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee, and an Ambassador Christopher Stevens Scholar. |
